Then, oddly, he rang me back from a Manchester number claiming to be from “O2, your mobile provider.” I told him I’m not with O2. He got a bit insisty, even mentioned Virgin Media this time as well as O2. I explained my number was originally with O2 but I switched providers ages ago. That seemed to be the only proof he had because he soon gave up and ended the call. Pretty obvious it was a scam.
