Got a call on my landline with a recorded voice saying I'd bought train tickets from London to Scotland. It said if I hadn’t, press one to get through to some Visa fraud team. Total rubbish, so I just hung up straight away.

I got a call from this number but didn't pick up, then a few hours later I got bombarded with over 60 calls from loads of different numbers, plus around 20 messages from people claiming I’d called them. Thing is, I hadn’t even used my phone - it’s ex-directory and my number’s withheld. Somehow these scammers must’ve stolen my number! I feel really sorry for that elderly lady in Dumfries whose number got used as well. I’m in my 60s too, and it really upset me, even though I didn’t answer a single call.

This is really odd and a bit upsetting. The number 01387269599 belongs to an elderly woman, about 87, who lives in Dumfries and owns the landline there. She’s been crying because her phone keeps ringing non-stop, with folks blaming her for calling them when she says she hasn’t made a single call. It’s been happening all day every day for the past couple of days. Proper strange situation.

I got two calls from this number today already. The second I caught the faint noise in the background I realised it had to be some call centre and I just ended the call.
