Got a call from someone named Jason claiming to be from Openreach - said there were some errors with my internet and it might be down for a whole week or more. He asked me to turn my PC on and said he’d wait while I did it. I mentioned there was an Openreach van right outside on the road and asked if he'd want me to get them to check it out. As soon as I said that, he just hung up on me! 😂

Got a call this morning at about 7.35 from an Asian bloke saying he was with BT Openreach about my internet. I told him I don’t even have BT for my internet and asked what the call was about. Then he just hung up on me! So rude! These scams are getting worse all the time. Why isn’t anyone taking action against these dodgy calls? Surely the numbers should be blocked or banned! It’s really annoying and feels so unsafe.

It's evident they’re of Asian descent and their grasp of English is rather shaky, sounding as if they were reading from a pre-written script. The moment I began probing into their inquiries, they seemed quite taken aback and hung up rather quickly. If you happen to receive a call from them, I recommend following the same approach I did: question them about their intentions and the purpose of their call. Let them know that before you divulge any information, you’ll need to call them back. More often than not, they’ll swiftly end the conversation.

This morning at about 8.05, I got a call from someone named Arron claiming to be from BT Openreach, speaking with an Indian accent. I told him I was in a hurry getting ready for work and couldn't chat, then ended the call. Later, when I came back for lunch, I noticed I'd missed 8 calls from that same number. Definitely seems like a scam. Watch out for this one!

Some bloke called saying he was from BT but had a weird American accent. I told him there’s no way he’s with BT, still kept going on like it was true, so I just hung up. I answered the phone and it was dead quiet for a bit, then after some time the person finally began to talk. I asked what they wanted and they just hung up on me! I'd already had calls from BT Openreach and Microsoft earlier, so I wasn’t in the mood to be nice. WARNING! Scam alert from someone calling himself "Martin" claiming to be from BT Openreach. He said my account would be suspended within 48 hours due to some illegal stuff happening with my IP address. He tried to guide me through "catching the hackers". So this guy called me, said his name was Ryan (yeah, really), claiming to be from Openreach and that my internet was about to fail in the next day. I let him ramble on for a couple of minutes, going all techy about my internet issues, then I told him I actually don’t own a computer. Guess what? The call just ended right there! Honestly, these scam calls are driving me mad. How do they even get hold of my BT number anyway? It’s so annoying!

I got a call claiming to be from BT Openreach saying my internet would be cut off in 24 hours. When I asked for more details, the person said my IP address had been hacked. I told them there was no way they’d have that info, and then they just hung up on me. Proper annoying way to start the day. Guess I’m back to ignoring calls on my landline. This individual claimed to be from BT Openreach and informed me that my internet would be out of action for a whole week because, apparently, someone else was already using my connection. She requested my router number, which immediately raised my suspicions, so I hung up. Subsequently, they called me back three times, but I chose to ignore those calls. She sounded quite convincing, even providing a name-Martina Homes-and a reference number: GT00109. Very odd indeed!

Got a call bright and early at 7.30am from some guy who said he was "James" from BT Openreach - though the accent was definitely not local, as usual with these types.
