The caller insisted I run a command prompt on my machine, offering to connect remotely to rectify the issue and enhance my security. About ten minutes into the conversation, I revealed I was on speakerphone and fully aware of the scam, using it as an opportunity to waste his time, hoping to prevent someone else from falling victim. He wasn't too chuffed about my revelation, stating it was his job and I was only wasting my own time. I countered that as I was still working, he was the one squandering time, not me. He abruptly disconnected. In the background, I could hear a cacophony of others engaged in similar dubious activities.
