Got a call from a lady claiming to be from the telephone preference service. She already knew my name and address, which seemed a bit fishy to me. I reckon it’s some kind of smart scam. After not responding to her questions for a bit, she just ended the call.

I’ve been getting calls from numbers like 01246278473 and 001614395833 all this week, but whenever I answer there’s nobody there. I keep blocking these numbers but it seems like they just use another one to keep calling. It’s getting really annoying.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming he represented the telephone preference service. He told me my membership had run out and offered an upgrade that would block calls from international numbers too. He was dodgy about whether it was free or not, and asked to verify my address. It struck me as a bit odd since TPS is usually tricky to get hold of, and despite being on the list, I still get loads of spam calls. This isn’t the first time I’ve had a call like this, but it’s the first time I bothered to look up the number.
