Got a call from someone claiming to be from SSE. They wanted me to verify my mobile number, but I told them straight up I don't give my mobile details to unexpected callers. Then they quickly switched, saying they meant my landline. I pointed out that since they were calling me on it, they already had it and I wasn’t about to share anything else. After I said I don’t even have an SSE account, they insisted I did and that data protection rules meant they couldn’t talk further unless I provided more info. I just laughed, said "no worries," and hung up.
