I received a dodgy call from someone pretending to be from Microsoft, claiming that my computer was infected with a virus. They offered to 'assist' me with the issue. How delightful! However, my computer is in perfect working order, thank you very much!

I've been getting calls from this number for a few days, but when I pick up, there's just silence. Then today, after 2pm, some Asian bloke with a weird Microsoft-style voice wished me "good morning". I told him it was afternoon, not morning. He kept going with some sales pitch or whatever. I finally said, "Come on, be serious, you're definitely not Microsoft" and ended the call. Such a waste of time!

Can anyone tell me who was ringing from 01383722086? I've been getting calls from this number and have no idea who it is.

Got a call from someone with a sorta Asian accent. My missus picked up and told them to just email her instead, then they just hung up. Might be nothing, but figured I should say I’m also ex-directory, so maybe just a coincidence.

I never pick up my phone anymore, just let it ring until it stops, then I dial 1471 to see who called. After that, I look the number up on this site. Looks like this one has been making the rounds today.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Microsoft, trying to get into my computer. Definitely a scammer!

I got a call from 01383722086 and the bloke said his name was David, which I knew was a lie. He had an Indian accent and started going on about Microsoft, so I just ended the call right away!

Got a call from some woman saying my computer was having issues. I told her I don't even own one - she then insisted it must be my laptop. I kept telling her I have no laptop either, and then she just ended the call!

Got a call from someone with what sounded like an Asian accent. My missus answered and told them to just email her instead, then she ended the call. Not sure if it means anything, but I’m also unlisted, so thought I’d say something just in case it’s connected.

someone called me from a number that looked local, cause it started with my area code, but it turned out to be some indian lady telling me my "windows" pc had an issue! how come they got my area code and, even more suspicious, they managed to ring me when i'm supposed to be ex-directory? ive had loads of these annoying calls before so i'm quite cautious now. i told her i wasnt interested, but she kept saying it was a legit call. yeah right! tired of these sales pitch calls, they’re nonstop!

Got a call saying it was really important and from BT about my internet.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming he was from some sort of ‘Windows’ service. I wasn’t paying proper attention at first and assumed it was one of those state-backed double-glazing grant schemes again. Then he started saying they’d been watching my PC for a few weeks and detected some dodgy download. Complete rubbish, naturally. I thought about messing with him a bit to see what he’d say next, but honestly, just cutting the call off felt way better.

this bloke named alex, sounded indian, rang me saying there was an issue with my pc and claimed he was from bt. i just laughed it off. then he kept going on about how young i sounded, kept asking my age. i ended up hanging up on him!
