A call came through on my phone, and the person on the other end claimed, “I have a file regarding a car accident you were involved in. It appears it wasn’t your fault-shall we discuss it?” Naturally, I was taken aback, as I’ve never been in a car mishap in my life. When I mentioned this, they persisted, saying, “This incident occurred within the last seven and a half years.” I couldn’t help but chuckle, considering I only moved to the UK six months ago. How could they possibly have records of a supposed accident from seven years ago? Ridiculous, isn’t it? I responded, “I don’t even drive; I don’t possess a driving licence!” As soon as those words left my mouth, the line went dead. I certainly won’t be returning their call! What irks me the most is how they had my name and number, not to mention the fact that the call originated from my own city. The number was 01382412069.
