Someone rang me up claiming they had tips on how to cut down energy bills. She mentioned something about getting your electricity for free or something like that. When I asked what exactly she was trying to sell, she said "I'm not selling anything, just sharing info". I told her I wasn't interested in wind turbines, solar panels or more insulation. Then she just said "Alright, thanks for your time. Cheers" and hung up.

Got a call with a Dundee area code, picked up and some bloke said it was from Hot Energy. I wasn’t interested, so told him no cheers and ended the call straight away.

Today (23rd July) I got a call on my work phone from this number. I’m also based in Dundee but didn’t pick up. When I called back, I got an international ringing tone followed by some Spanish guitar music playing on a loop. Seems like a total scam to me. Best not to answer or ring them back!

This number keeps ringing me pretty much every day. I never pick up, but I did use the 1471 service to check who it is, and it shows this same number after each time it rings. I’m based in Dundee and got curious, so I dialled it back thinking it might be someone from my job. Instead, it went through as an international call and then a voicemail kicked in. I ended the call right away. Anyone got an idea who’s behind these calls?
