Got a call from a woman speaking with a strong Scottish accent, saying I’d filled out some medical questionnaire last year. I kept telling her I hadn’t, but she just would not believe me. She had my address right, but got the name wrong. Just another bunch of scammers, I reckon.

This was very similar to what happened to me, with a bit of a different spin: I’d just completed a follow-up survey after my hip surgery at hospital and assumed the call was related, even though I was confused about why the woman said she was from Dundee. Things got a bit awkward when she started probing about other medical questions in a rather dodgy way, so I told her I wasn’t happy and she ended the call. Seems it was just a coincidence and nothing to do with the hospital sharing my info (thank goodness!). I worry about elderly people living alone or anyone with memory problems getting caught out by this. Despite being registered with TPS and hitting options to stop calls, nothing works and I have no clue where they got my number from. Honestly, this sort of thing should be banned immediately.

I’m so tired of the scam calls that keep coming in at about 9.30 in the morning. Today, they picked up the phone but didn’t say a word before hanging up. Pretty sure they were just seeing if my number’s still active, which means I’ll probably get even more calls soon.

Got a call earlier from a woman with a Scottish accent saying I’d taken part in a survey last year. I told her I never did any survey like that, but she was convinced I had. She even knew my full address and mentioned I live on my own, which honestly gave me the creeps. Really curious to find out who these people are and what they're up to.

I got a call from a woman with a Scottish accent who claimed she was from some kind of independence support service. She said I’d filled out a survey about aches and pains about a year ago, and they were just checking back. Thing is, we never do phone surveys so that was a bit fishy. What really threw me was that she knew both mine and my husband’s names plus our home address. We’re registered with the telephone preference service, but it doesn’t stop these annoying calls from coming through.

A lady with a clear voice called my elderly mum from 01382 250391 about an ECG she supposedly had recently. She asked mum how old she'd be on her next birthday and also enquired about dad’s age, then just cut off. About thirty minutes later, mum tried calling back and a bloke answered, but we couldn’t make out what he was saying. She gave it another go a couple of hours later, and the same woman from before answered but ended up hanging up on her.

On 11.11.15 i got a call from a woman who said something like “you mentioned having aches and pains, so i’m calling to check in.” When i asked her how she knew that, she claimed i’d filled out some kind of questionnaire, but she wouldn’t say where or when. Every time i pressed for more details, she just refused and said she’d remove my name from their list. However, when i asked her to completely delete my details, she ignored me. I’m pretty careful about who i give my number to, only genuine companies, and i always make sure to tick the boxes saying not to be contacted.

After talking to a manager who rambled on, I eventually made him take my details off their lists. Afterwards, I reported them to the TPS. The caller was Pure Independence, from Dundee in Scotland.

About 4.45 this afternoon, I got a phone call from a really polite young bloke who said I’d completed a health survey around a year ago. I told him I hadn’t done any survey like that, and he quickly said sorry for disturbing me and ended the call.

Got a call from this number on 10 June 2015 at around 2pm. I didn’t pick up and it stopped ringing when my voicemail kicked in. Later I dialled the number back using 1471. A guy with a really thick Scottish accent answered and when I asked who it was, he said something about “independance”. He mentioned I’d apparently completed some survey about aches and pains a year ago, asking if I’d found out the cause or if the pain had gone. I asked if he was trying to sell me anything and he said no. So I told him to remove my details from their list. Like others, when I called him, he already knew my name from caller ID. Got a call the other day asking for the landlord's name, even though they haven't been here for years. I normally ask who's on the line first, and they claimed it was some health service, saying they spoke to me about 11 months ago and asked if I remembered. I queried whether I'd called them, or they called me, and they said they had rung me on this number. Thing is, we never had any chat before. Feels like one of those scams trying to trick elderly folks with dodgy memories into thinking they've already agreed to something, just to make a follow-up call sound legit.

Background was really noisy and the call kept crackling. The bloke said I’d filled out some kind of form last year about joint pain and aches, but I honestly can’t recall doing that at all. Sounds like they’re after people from 50 up to 90 years old. Like always, he claimed he wasn’t pushing anything to sell. He went on and on about arthritis and some sort of pain-relief pad they supposedly had. Then said a representative would come by to set it all up, and I could test it out for however long I wanted. When I asked if it was electrical, his answer was really unclear, but I guessed it was a no. I ended up telling him straight, seemed like he was just trying to scam older folks. Obviously, he was aiming to sell something! Just imagine what’d happen when this ‘rep’ showed up. I made it clear I’m not daft, and said my aches had actually cleared up anyway. Really disgusts me how these companies operate.
