What a dodgy number! I had a chap with a pronounced Asian accent ring me from this one. He purported to be from British Telecom, saying they were on the verge of cutting off my broadband due to some supposed problems with my IP address. Total nonsense!

What a load of nonsense from those con artists! I expressed my understanding but insisted they ought to reflect on their decisions in life.

This morning I got a phone from a woman named Jenny claiming she was with Virgin Media. She said there was some "odd activity" on their servers, and someone was trying to hack into my browser. When I asked her to verify the number she was calling from and my home address, she gave me the number but couldn’t confirm my address at all. Then she told me to fire up my computer and log on, saying she’d check my info after. Very fishy! Total scam if you ask me!

Some bloke from Virgin Media security rang me saying my internet was messed up. I told him I wasn’t gonna do anything over the phone, and suddenly he threatened to cut me off. Felt dodgy as hell, so I just ended the call. Pretty sure it was a scam.

Got a call from a lady who said her name was Jenny, with an Asian accent. She claimed to be from Virgin Media about my broadband. I told her I wasn’t with Virgin and just ended the call. Since I don’t use Virgin broadband, I’m pretty sure this was a scam.

got a call from this bloke speaking with a strong asian accent, saying he was from bt and threatening to cut off our internet. i told him we actually use virgin media, not bt, but he kept going on like everything came from bt. i just kept saying no, like a kid refusing to admit to something they didnt do and of course, right after that, he just ended the call. typical!

I received a call from someone purporting to be with VirginMedia, insisting there was an issue with my internet service. When I asked for some credible proof to verify the authenticity of the call, all she could muster was her employee ID number. Upon requesting specific information regarding any accounts linked to me, she abruptly ended the call. Interestingly, I've noticed that this number is also linked to supposed representatives from TalkTalk and Amazon, based on some of my prior searches.

Received a call purporting to be from Virgin Media, but I just carried on with my daily tasks and left them in limbo. Well, at least they've got a nice, quiet phone line for the time being!

I was left hanging on the line for a moment. There were some background sounds that gave off a faux 'office' vibe, and then a woman's voice chimed in with a hesitant "Hello" after I greeted her. After that, silence reigned, so I decided to hang up. That trademark 'office' noise is always a dead giveaway, isn’t it? Oddly enough, I was just musing yesterday about how I hadn't encountered one of these pointless calls in the last three months, especially after being bombarded with them daily for ages!

A woman claiming to be from the technical support team at Virgin Media contacted me, stating that my internet connection had been compromised. She mentioned that foreign individuals were accessing my network without permission. She provided me with a lengthy Virgin ID number and guided me on how to verify it, which I followed through. She explained how to find the list of IP addresses that were allegedly infiltrating my internet to gather information. While she seemed quite knowledgeable, she then directed me to a website that made me uneasy about her legitimacy, so I decided to end the call. I had lodged a complaint regarding a fault a few days prior, which could imply she was indeed genuine. However, when I reached out to Virgin Media for clarification, they found no record of the conversation and suggested it was likely a phishing attempt. I’ve noticed that she has also attempted to ring both my home and mobile numbers several times - about three or four, if I recall correctly.
