Lately, we’ve been flooded with scam calls from places like Dundee, Bolton, Manchester, Hunstanton, and Devizes. Most probably these calls are coming from India or Pak*stan using VOIP tech. We just hang up straight away if it isn’t a number we recognise. It’s baffling why BT hasn’t sorted this out yet - it’s mad that these scammers can pretend to be local and trick loads of people out of their money. They’re really good at what they do, unfortunately. I wonder if the government or Ofcom are doing anything to force telecom companies to fix this? And I mean soon, like in the next three months, not years down the line when countless more people will have lost their savings to these ruthless crooks.
