Got a call from a lady who knew my name and wanted to speak to me. When I asked who she was, she just hung up right away. Needless to say, her number is definitely blocked now.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with a health firm who already knew my name. Right away, I felt something was off. Then she started mentioning some government green scheme help. I told her I wasn't interested and ended the call straight away. Definitely a scammer, so best not to chat with these people.

I said hello but no one replied, then the call just got ended. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Whenever I pick up and my answering machine clicks on after just a couple of rings, the caller immediately ends the call. I figure it’s probably just some scammer again. From what I’ve found, having your answer phone set to pick up quickly is the easiest way to handle these sorts of calls. Real callers will leave a message, but if it’s dodgy, they just hang up straightaway. This happened with 01379339200, which is a landline number from around here.

Every time I pick up and my answerphone comes on after a couple of rings, the caller just cuts off. I reckon it's probably another scam call. The smartest thing to do with these lot is to set your answerphone to start quickly. That way, if it’s someone real, they leave a message, but if it’s a scammer, they’ll just drop off right away.

Around 11:55 this number rang me up. The voice said, “Hello Mrs (actually knew my name), we’re doing a check on elderly folks in the ip14 area.” I assumed it was someone from the health service making sure older people were alright during this corona business. Told her I was fine and keeping myself isolated. Then suddenly, the call just cut off. I tried calling back with 141 and got “the number you have dialled is not recognised.” After having a look on Google and seeing others' comments about calls from that number, I get what’s going on now!

I received a call today from a young woman with either a London or Essex accent, but there was a pause before she picked up. She was blathering on about some green home deal. The moment I probed her for more details-like who she was, what the offer was, and how it all worked-she just muttered “Diss” and promptly cut the line. It felt very dodgy, especially since they had my surname, which makes me suspect they’re working off a compromised database. Do yourselves a favour and steer clear of these calls-definitely report it as a scam!

there’s this young woman with a london/essex twang who waits a bit before chatting, only starting once they clock you’re on the line. she said something about a green funding home thing? when i asked who they were, what the deal was and how they got my number, all she said was “diss” (just some area code innit), then they cut off straight away! don’t pick up, it’s dodgy! they’re using local numbers to trick folks and weirdly, they already know your surname - feels like a ripped-off database to me??

My phone buzzed with no caller ID, so I picked up but there was dead silence on the line before it cut off. I tried looking up the area code on Google since it didn’t look familiar at all.
