7 yearsFor a few months now ive been getting these calls maybe once or twice a month, but today ive had two back to back. One claimed to be from a taxi company, the other said they were from the traffic authority claims dept. I told them neither outfit would ring you out of the blue like that and they hung up pretty sharpish. I tried to sign up for the TPS on a site i found online but my browser flagged it as unsafe and there's no little padlock in the web address bar so i didnt go any further. Does anyone know a safe way to add your number to TPS?CABRTATPS7 yearsEvery couple of weeks, I get calls from these people. I asked them repeatedly to remove my number, but they just ignore it. I even explained that under GDPR they aren’t allowed to keep my number or any info since I never agreed to it, but that didn’t seem to bother them. I also mentioned I’m on the TPS list, so they shouldn’t be ringing me at all, yet they carry on regardless.Telephone Preference Service7 yearsI’m really sick of getting calls all the time. I don’t pick up, but they still ring me like 5 or 6 times every day. One time I picked up and they said some rubbish about me being in a crash. When I told them I don’t even have a licence, they just went quiet and ended the call. Proper annoying!7 yearsThere’s this cold call scam going about for ages now where they try to tell you that you or someone in your family has been involved in a car accident and there’s some insurance claim thing going on. With so many folks getting these calls on both mobiles and landlines, these scammers just keep coming up with clever new ways to trick people.7 yearsGot a call from some scam about an accident. I said yes when the automated voice asked me, then this bloke jumped in. He kept saying he was only checking info or something, but when I asked where he was calling from and named some places in India, he got all defensive. Then when he said he was from Pakistan, I couldn’t help but have a little chuckle!IndiaPakistan7 yearsSo I was chatting to this person on the phone about a crash I'd apparently been in - definitely made the story up - and my daughter overheard. She found the whole thing hilarious and insisted on getting in on the action. She called the number herself and, using a really fancy accent, asked the bloke for his full name and birthday, which he actually gave her. We couldn’t stop laughing afterward!7 yearsGot a call from someone saying I’d been in a car crash. Totally caught me off guard and felt a bit dodgy. Definitely seemed like a scam to me.Submit Your Own Report (01379 076069)
