Got a call from someone claiming to work for BT OpenReach saying there was an issue with my phone line. I hadn't noticed any problem, nor had I reported anything wrong. The person asked if they could link a BT server to my laptop to run some checks. I was pretty suspicious and told him that sounded risky, then asked for his number so I could ring him later. He said he got why I was wary but insisted that was the only method to find the fault.
