10 yearsYesterday, our home phone rang, and I picked it up to hear a chap with an Asian accent claiming he was from Talk Talk. He mentioned something about our internet or router being compromised. He insisted I switch on my computer so he could guide me through the supposedly necessary steps to fix everything. The whole thing felt rather believable, especially with the chaotic atmosphere of a call centre echoing in the background. Luckily, my wife had a sixth sense about it all, so I ended the conversation and rang Talk Talk directly. They assured me that no one from their team had contacted us and confirmed that our online security was perfectly fine. Just a word of caution for everyone out there...10 yearsGot a call earlier from a woman with what sounded like an Asian accent, asking if my internet was running slow. I played along and gave her the name Michelle Margret and a fake ref - BT 4500289. Then when she asked about a computer I said I didn’t have one and she just ended the call. After that, I got a couple of quiet calls from a withheld number within the hour. Not sure if it’s connected but feels like a scam to me.Michelle Margret10 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be from TalkTalk.
