Had quite a few calls today from a number telling me my IP address was hacked or something. This time it was a woman’s voice, sounded like one of those pre-recorded messages, maybe American accent, saying to press 1 to chat with a tech person. I just hung up straight away. The same number called me yesterday with pretty much the same spiel.

Got a call from some bloke with a heavy Indian accent saying there was an issue with my IP address and internet connection. Total rubbish, obviously. I just played along and kept him talking for about fifteen minutes, firing nonsense back at him too. After a while, he gave up and ended the call. Pretty clear it was a scam.

Got a voicemail from 01375 896485 saying my IP address was supposedly hacked in multiple countries and that I should get in touch to sort it out. Didn’t bother returning the call. Less than a couple hours later, I got another similar call from 01282 325185, which I ignored too. It’s quite odd if these were legit calls since the first number is from Grays/Thurrock area in Essex, and the second one’s from Burnley in Lancashire. Both left almost the same message, so it’s clear to me it’s just one big scam.

Got a recorded call from a woman speaking with an American accent, saying my IP address was at risk. When I tried to ring back the number, it turned out to be invalid.

He said he was with British Telecom, but there was loads of noise like a busy call centre behind him. Definitely felt like some kind of scam to me.

This bloke called me from a call centre, said his name was Tony and claimed he was with BT, telling me my internet got hacked. Before that, I’d already had some dodgy automated messages asking me to press a button to call them back. Then this guy wanted me to give him control of my router to "sort out" the issue. Honestly, they must think we’re total mugs to fall for that!

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming she worked for BT and said she needed to cut off my broadband. I kept asking questions for a bit until I told her it was a scam, then she hung up straight away. I could hear loads of people talking in the background, many with Asian voices, which made me think it’s some kind of scam ring. They must be pretty organised, calling from different numbers - this was my second call in less than two hours. The other number they used was 01287492373.

Someone called claiming to be "Sandy Martin" from BT, but as I work at BT myself, I was pretty sure this was a fib. I checked our staff records and couldn’t find anyone by that name. When I asked the caller how he knew it was BT, he gave me what he said was my "BT account number" - thing is, BT would never do that over the phone. Plus, the number he read out was just a jumble of letters and digits that didn’t make any sense at all. Definitely a dodgy call.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from BT saying my internet would get cut off unless I paid up. I told them straight away they were trying to scam me and then they just dropped the call. Got a call from 01375-896485, some bloke saying he was from Virgin Media, telling me my internet and phone would be out for a few days. I told him I hadn’t got any letter about it, but he insisted it’d be arriving soon. He spoke with quite a thick accent and said his name was ‘Adrian O’Connell’. Then he asked me to go on Virgin Media’s official site, but I said I’d ring Virgin Media myself to check if anything was wrong and hung up. When I phoned them, they said they hadn’t called me at all. Sounds like a total scam, so watch out!

Got a call from a man with an Indian accent, said his name was George and he worked for BT Internet. I asked him why he was ringing me since I don’t even have BT, and he said my computer was being hacked. I told him I seriously doubted that, and then he just said “sorry,” hung up straight away. Some bloke rang up asking for my partner, even tho the landline's registered under me. He claimed they’d be cutting off the internet for a couple of hours to prevent hackers and scammers messing with my account. Then he said I should check my laptop. That rang loads of alarm bells, so I flat out said no way. When I asked how I could trust he wasn’t some scammer, he just hung up on me.

A bloke with a really thick accent called, knew our last name and wanted to speak to my husband. When I said he was busy on another line, he sounded quite eager. I tried asking where he was calling from a few times but he just stayed silent, though I could hear loads of people chatting in the background like a call centre. He never ended the call, so I just hung up.
