I got a call from some dodgy lot claiming there was an issue with my internet, saying they were with BT - I'm not even a BT customer! They told me they wanted to help sort the problem and asked me to open Google Chrome and type ‘find my ip’ in the search bar. Don’t fall for it, they’re just after your IP to mess with your computer. Proper scammers, stay alert!

If someone rings you up saying they’re from your internet company and say they can sort out a problem, be careful. They might try to get you to pay by gift card. Don’t fall for it! Paying doesn’t mean you’re gonna get your stuff back. Just keep it simple and don’t let them on your computer.
