Claimed to be from Virgin Media and when I requested them to reach me on my mobile, given I’m a Virgin customer, they persisted in asking for my number instead. I pointed out that they ought to have that information already. Moreover, they couldn't specify which department they were representing. According to Ofcom, any number beginning with 0137288 is assigned to Magrathea Telecommunications Limited. It's odd how loads of suspicious calls I've looked into come from this same company! When I call them back, blocking my number, I get a robotic message in an American accent saying “online appliance service” can’t answer at the moment and to leave a message. Someone really needs to get Action Fraud on this!
