This morning at an ungodly hour of 4:35 AM, my phone buzzed not once, but FIVE times, all from a number that looks somewhat familiar - 01372 379379. Now, my mobile is programmed to remain silent during the night, specifically from 10.30 PM until 7 AM. I can honestly say I was far from pleased to be jolted awake at such an early hour!

These scammers are quite cunning. Their communication skills are lacking as their voices are difficult to understand, the phone connection is poor with crackling noises, and their pronunciation is horrible. They called me claiming BT broadband issues, warning that others were hacking into it. They asked me to switch on my broadband, insisting they would guide me through the solution. Suspicious, I requested a phone number but they simply provided BT's freephone number. When I asked for a name, they abruptly hung up. Interestingly, they have now called back twice but didn't say anything and promptly ended the call when I didn't respond.
