Got a call claiming to be from BT Outreach about some kind of cyber security alert. They said there was suspicious activity near me and knew my name and address, telling me my IP was “exposed”. When I asked for their contact number to verify with my own IT guy, the number they gave sounded fake, missing a proper area code. I called them out on it and they just hung up. When I checked the last caller ID using 1471, it showed this number: 01372 21199.
