I got a robocall from a woman’s voice claiming there was “suspicious activity” on my card - something like £300 from Amazon and over £1,000 sent abroad. Since I’ve never made those transactions, the message told me to press 1 to stop the payments or speak to their “advisor.” It was so obviously a scam. They didn’t bother mentioning any names, what bank they supposedly represented, or even if it was my debit or credit card. Honestly, if I had a quid for every time I’ve had one of these Amazon-related scams or similar, I’d be laughing all the way to the bank!

Today at about 12:58 I got a message from a robotic female voice saying there’s been some dodgy activity on my card - something like £300 from Amazon and £1,100 from some “International money transfer company”. They told me to press 1 if I want to cancel or speak to an advisor, claiming I’ve never used these services before. Totally obvious scam since they didn’t even mention my name, the bank, or what card they were talking about. If I had a quid for every time they’ve tried this or some Amazon scam, I’d be made by now!
