Got a call today from this supposedly “local” number, but nobody said a word, just weird background noise. I’m on the telephone preference service list so shouldn’t be getting any cold calls at all. When I rang the number back, it went through to some company called Howard & Kendal from Manchester. This is the third time I’ve seen this number pop up in the last few days, though I probably missed loads before I started watching out for it. Seriously, companies pretending to be local by using local area codes from other places need to be stopped.

They didn’t say who it was, just called me by my first name. When I asked them straight up who was calling, they just ended the call. The 552 code isn’t one I recognise for this region either.
