I got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC, telling me there was a fraud case against me. It was one of those recorded messages asking me to press some buttons. I just ended the call straight away without giving anything out. It’s definitely not HMRC. If you get a call like this, just hang up quick and don’t share any personal details.

They said they were from BT but when I questioned them, they got really rude and started saying some really inappropriate stuff.

I received a call from this number not too long ago, and they actually left a voicemail. In the recording, I heard them remark, “Perhaps you ought to master the art of picking up your phone,” then there was a pause with some indistinct chatter in the background, which had the feel of a call centre atmosphere. To cap it all off, they cheekily said, “Cheers, mum!” which is quite the laugh considering I’m not even a parent! Quite mysterious, if you ask me!
