This morning (17 January), I got a call from this number. A woman with a pretty strong foreign accent claimed to be from Visa, saying my money was frozen because of two recent transactions, one for £600 and another for £1000. She asked if I wanted to approve or cancel them. I told her I wasn’t going to do either since I didn’t trust she was really from Visa, then I just hung up. What worries me is that the number showed up as a local one, which could mislead elderly or vulnerable folks into thinking it’s legit - but I’m sure it’s a scam.
