I got a call from an Asian guy who claimed he somehow knew my TV was on. I told him I don’t even own a telly, so then he started asking about other appliances in my house. When I asked him to be more specific about what he meant, he suddenly got rude and just ended the call!

Some bloke rang saying he was just testing if my phone lines were okay because they were sending out replacements. I asked what company he was from and he claimed it was BT. This morning I got a call from a guy with a foreign accent, kept asking for my other half. I told him there was blood all over the place and that the police were on their way because my partner was dead. He was at a loss for words for a moment, then just said, “oh, right” and hung up. Not sure if he liked me bringing the police into it. Just so you know, my husband is definitely alive and well, currently at work. This number has been calling me pretty much every afternoon while I’m on maternity leave, but whenever I pick up, there’s nobody there and the call just ends. I reckon it might be because I’ve told them loads of times to take me off their list. Also, to the person who said the callers sound Indian or Pakistani but have names like Michael - well, it’s possible they have names like that, especially if they’re Christian. Plus, if they’re using fake names, it’s probably because their boss told them to, so really it’s the company that’s the problem, not the actual caller.

I picked up the phone on Good Friday evening but there was no one on the other end.

This guy told me I could cut my landline and broadband bills by half. He said it would be £30 plus VAT.
