There was a lot of noise in the background. The caller had an Asian accent and said he was from some Accident Centre, telling me I’d been in an accident. When I told him he’d dialled the wrong number again, like last week, and asked where he got my details from, he just ended the call.

Some bloke named David rang me yesterday sounding foreign, saying there was some accident. Then he went on about my BT broadband getting cut off in half an hour. Honestly, I’ll stick with Sky, unless they've joined up or summat. These calls are such a pain!

Somebody rang me pretending to be my landlord saying the phone line was all crackly and telling me I'd been in an accident. I told them straight up that I haven't been in any accident and asked where they even got my number from since no one else has it. I made it clear I don’t drive or own a car and have never had an accident. Then they just hung up on me. They were completely off with their info.

I kept him talking for nearly 20 minutes before he twigged I was having a laugh. The so-called passengers in my “accident,” Mr Tibbs and Sir Rufus de Wagtail, are just my pets. When I mentioned I was completely plastered and not wearing my glasses during the “incident,” he then asked how old I was. I said 87, and then he hung up. Haven’t heard a peep from him since.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the police about a car crash I supposedly had in the past couple years. I asked who they wanted to talk to and it sounded like they might be trying to scam me. They then passed the call to another person who said they got my info from Direct Line. When I asked again who they were after, the guy started acting weird, telling me my voice sounded nice. I asked once more who they were trying to contact and he just kept saying "you, you sound lovely." Was getting really uncomfortable so I just ended the call.

I was chatting to a mate, so probably my line was busy when their automated call came through the first time. Since then, they’ve been ringing nonstop every half minute for like five minutes straight. I never pick up if I don’t know the number unless they leave a voicemail. Cheers to you all for helping me dodge this pest of a caller. Better to be warned than caught out!
