Today at about 6:33pm (09.12.25) I got a call from this number whilst I was having my tea. I’ve noticed loads of people here say it’s a scam. Actually, I've had three calls just like this one during the day! As someone who’s on a sick pension, it really worries me. From what I’ve seen on this site, the caller pretends to be all sorts of people, which makes me think it’s really risky for decent folks like us. I received a rather dubious visit from a marketing firm acting for a citizens’ advice group. Their representative was clearly using high-pressure tactics typical of door-to-door salespeople, which led me to report them - it’s essential that trading standards are informed, especially since Verisure alarms were alarmingly claiming that local residents were facing violent break-ins. Additionally, I had a phone call purportedly for a survey regarding their usefulness. Just to clarify, I am registered with the Telephone Preference Service. That said, I have no issue with receiving calls from Consumer Direct or Citizens Advice, as they do play a significant role in helping the public.

This is a proper company doing customer satisfaction surveys for different businesses. The call I got was related to something I did with one company and seemed totally above board. They didn’t ask me for any private info, just wanted my feedback about the service I got. The woman who called was really nice and courteous.

If it got through the Telephone Preference Service, then the blame lies with them, not the caller. If you've forgotten what the call pertains to, that's really not their problem, it's yours. What a lot of daft individuals! The classic "didn't pick up, therefore it must be dodgy" mentality is just absurd. Seen loads of comments here saying this number is legit for surveys. I’d just say it’s safer to kindly refuse to take part and block it anyway. Scammers often fake real numbers, so better to be careful.

After looking at the comments, I'm relieved I didn’t pick up. None of the callers who seemed legitimate mentioned anything related to me.

Someone rang me up and asked for me by name, said they were phoning on behalf of Orbit about a survey. I told them I was too busy and when they asked when I’d be free, I just said I wouldn’t be, as I didn’t want to take part. I’m pretty sure Orbit Housing Association don’t just cold call like that, so not sure if it was genuine or some sort of scam.

This is a legit survey number, I went to a brilliant light display not long ago and they asked if I’d do a phone survey the next day, so I can confirm this is for real.

If I was to ignore any calls from numbers not saved on my contacts, I'd end up missing plenty of important stuff. That includes things like appointment reminders and such. Once, I even had a follow-up call from my surgeon after an operation. There’s a tonne of reasons not to just block unknown numbers. Also, just answering a call won’t get you scammed by itself. If it’s a dodgy caller, just tell them politely to 'bugger off' and hang up. For this particular number, it’s definitely a scammer, no doubt about it.

Try not to be too harsh on those ringing from this number. It really is a proper market research company. With all the scammers out there pretending to be legit numbers just to trick folks, I usually just say no thanks and explain my reasons politely. That said, if it's obvious theyre trying to scam me, I don’t hesitate to tell them off quite firmly, using my strongest language!

Woman claiming to be from Marketing said she was conducting a survey for Citizens Advice Bureau and Trading Standards. Totally not true, and when I called her out on it being a scam, she just hung up. Seen other people mentioning the same thing on here and similar sites.

I got a call from Marketing means Ltd about a survey on CAB. Since I’d just used their service for advice, I wasn’t suspicious and answered some questions. I didn’t give any personal details though. The lady who called was very polite and sounded like she had an American accent, calling me “ma’am” after every reply. When I brought up scams, she offered to give me a number to verify but since the number was showing on my phone, I said no thanks. Do you think this was a scam? The call came through just after 4pm on 02/02/2022.
