Got a call from a Newton Abbott number but didn’t recognise it, so I just let it ring out. Later, I searched the number online and saw loads of people saying it's spam - about five complaints in just a few hours, things like no answer and silent calls. I sent a text to 7726 to report it as well.

Some bloke said he was ringing from O2, so I told him I’ve already bought something from them and wasn’t sure why they were phoning me up. Then he handed me over to some supervisor who asked if I’d got my promo phone, an iPhone 14 apparently. I said yes, but surely O2 would have all my details anyway. He called me rude, which is a laugh because I just kept telling him it was a scam. He kept pestering about when I’d be in to check if the parcel arrived. I’ve been with O2 for over a decade and they’ve never once called to check if I got my phone. Trust me, O2 doesn’t do that.
