Got a call from a number that looked local but I suspect it was actually from abroad, trying to trick me into answering. When a bloke started with "Hello, it's Matt calling about the loft insulation you supposedly had done," I knew it wasn’t legit. I told him if he was going to make stuff up, he needed to be a bit more creative, then he just hung up on me. This happened on 16th June 2020 around 9:43 in the morning.

I just received a call from this number, claiming to be from BPI, wanting to check if I was due a refund from BT. It’s an absolute con! All they’re after is my banking information. I’ve also been plagued by similar dodgy calls from folks pretending to be from Microsoft. If you genuinely had a refund coming your way, trust me, they’d be well aware of it, and they would never request your bank details over the phone since they ought to have that information on file already!
