Today, my mother received a rather alarming phone call from this number, pretending to represent BT. They informed her of supposed unlawful activities on her internet and insisted she log in for their assistance. When she declined, they became quite aggressive and threatened to involve the police. Understandably, she was quite unsettled and decided to hang up. Afterwards, she contacted BT directly, who confirmed it was probably a scam. At 75 and living independently, this distressing encounter left her rattled. Luckily, she's quite astute and didn't follow their dubious instructions!
