When pressing 1, a woman with an Indian accent asks for your name and seems to find transaction details quickly. Some users said they played along to see what happens and it lasted a few minutes before revealing it’s a scam. Interestingly, the number called back connected to a real person in Scotland who said this sort of call happens a lot. Overall, it seems like a clever but fake scam call using a genuine phone number.

2 yearsI got a recorded message saying there was a Visa charge of £130 for train tickets and to press 1 if it wasn’t correct. Naturally, I pressed it to get the full story. Then a woman with an Indian accent came on, asking for my name so she could "check" the details. I gave her a fake name, but somehow she still managed to pull up the transaction. I played along for like ten minutes before I decided to call her out on it.
