Got a call from a woman claiming to be from car insurance about a claim I supposedly made for a minor crash with no injuries. She said the insurer was going to send me a cheque to settle it. I kept her on the line for about 10 minutes, just chatting. She even asked for my email at one point. Whenever I asked anything, she either agreed straight away or cut me off. Eventually, I told her her script was actually one of the better ones I’d come across in a car accident scam. Right after that, she hung up. Never share your info with callers like that!

This number just rang me up, asking straight away for me by my name. The voice had an accent that definitely wasn’t from South Lanarkshire, so I reckon it must be a fake number. The lady claimed she was calling from Motor Assist. Can’t share the whole chat cos it was pretty long, but I made it clear I hadn’t been in any crash. Even after I said goodbye, she kept going on as if she hadn’t heard me hang up.
