This time my partner picked up as I’m totally fed up with all these scam calls. The voice claimed to be from my car insurance, wanting to talk about a recent accident claim. Without missing a beat, my partner asked, “Which one? The three-car crash or the one where the poor bloke lost his head, but I kept it?” They cut the call straight away! Fingers crossed they won’t bother me again. Ha! Ha! Ha!

Someone rang saying I was in a car crash, I told them I wasn’t and hadn’t even used my car since before Christmas. They just cut the call right away. Felt like it was from one of those call centres.

Got a call tonight from someone saying I was involved in a car crash and might get compensation from the other driver. It was pretty hard to follow what they were saying. They wanted to know when and where the accident happened and info about the other driver. They said they’d ring me back tomorrow (if they weren’t already blocked, that is!)

Got a call from a number listed in Strathaven, Scotland, but I didn’t recognise it. The moment I heard a funny accent and them talking about some accident, I knew it was dodgy. They hung up quick after that before I could tell them where to shove it once they saw I wasn’t biting.

I received a call regarding an alleged car accident from the previous year. They had my name but it was clearly a con, so I decided to humour them a bit. I requested more information, like the vehicle registration number, but they refused to share any specifics. That’s when I casually dropped that I was in the insurance industry and that I was well aware this whole thing was a ruse. They promptly ended the call!

I got a call from a firm about a small accident I’d never heard about, and I had a feeling it was dodgy - and it was. What really worries me, like others have said, is that they already knew my first name! I’ve never had an O2 account or anything, so it seems like someone’s been selling my info.

Sounds like one of those car crash cons. They’re just trying to trap people who aren’t paying attention.

Complete scam. They called asking about a car crash I was supposedly involved in (which I wasn’t) saying I could get compensation! Proper rude and pushy on the phone too - not impressed at all.

+441357333025 They rang me and actually used my first name which was quite unsettling. They claimed I’d been in an accident a year ago, I told them scamming folks isn’t on. Why bother scamming like this? Then they just cut the call. As I said, it’s troubling how they knew my first name. I was checking out the reviews here, and it seems like other O2 customers, just like me, have had their names and numbers leaked?
