I got a ring from someone claiming to be from some consumer service, asking if my address was right. As soon as I said something, they just ended the call straight away.

This bloke Daniel said he was from O2 and wanted to send me a text from O2 as "proof" or summat. Like, how does a text from exactly the same number prove anything? My phone checker flagged it up as "Potential Fraud" straight away. Definitely felt dodgy, so I'm sure it was a scam.

I got a call from a mobile number I didn’t know, so I just let it go to voicemail. Glad I ignored it, but it’s really frustrating that some people believe it’s alright to bother others with calls no one asked for.

You really ought to report every scam call or text straight to the cyber crime unit - they’ve made it quite easy for folks to flag phone, email, and other fraud scams. When I raised the issue with my MP about all the scam calls I was getting, they advised me to contact this agency. There’s info on how to do this just under this comment thread. Scammers definitely don’t want people to be aware of this option. If you don’t report these scams, don’t be surprised when they just keep coming.

I got a call from 01356276026, located in Brechin, Scotland. The person on the other end had a strong Indian accent that was so hard to make out. I'm not sure what on earth they were trying to sell me, but it definitely felt dodgy, so I ended the call straight away! Wouldn't trust it at all.

Somebody called claiming to be from O2, offering a 30% cut on my phone bill. Having worked in a mobile store before, I knew straight away that O2 wouldn’t be ringing from a random number like that. Total con artists. When I said I wasn’t interested, the bloke sounded a bit irritated and kept asking why I’d turn down a discount. I just ended the call.

Got a call from someone pretending to be from O2, but it was actually a scammer. The number showed as being from Scotland, but I reckon they were actually somewhere in an Indian call centre. As soon as I told her she wasn’t really from O2, she just hung up on me. Typical dodgy scam!

Someone rang me earlier pretending to be from O2. They couldn’t answer any of the questions I asked about myself. Definitely seemed like a scam.

Got a call supposedly from Vodafone, trying to convince me to switch to a new deal or handset. The chap speaking had an Indian accent and just wouldn’t take no for an answer until I mentioned I'm still locked into a contract. He kept insisting there'd be no penalty fee and offered me a SIM-only deal for £7.90 with unlimited data and free 100 international minutes. I told him Vodafone doesn’t usually do that, and I didn’t really believe he was from Vodafone. I said I’d check the number first and if it’s legit, I’d call back.
