Got a call from BT about broadband speed checks. They wanted my phone number so they could "check" something. I never got checked, but the number they gave me to ring back started with 44? Like, why start with 44 anyway?? The bloke had a foreign accent too. With all these broadband firms getting taken over, it's just perfect for scammers to sneak in.
