I received a phone call earlier from a woman with an American accent, insisting that my internet service through BT would be cut off today because of some supposed unlawful activity-unless I pressed 1. The thing is, BT isn’t even my service provider! Seems like a classic scam to me.

Got a call from someone with an American accent telling me my BT internet was being cancelled as of today. It felt dodgy since I don’t even use BT for my internet, plus I just sorted my contract with another provider recently. They sounded pretty convincing, offering a couple of options to keep the service going. I just didn’t answer and let the call hang up by itself.
