This isnt a scam at all. Its actually a legit number used by loads of doctors surgeries. Like, alot of people who can get the flu jab will get a call from this number letting them know and giving them their GPs phone to ring up and book in.

No idea what that call was about, sounded like a recorded message but they said my name and asked me to enter my birthday in digits, which felt a bit odd and worrying. Call then just dropped. Got a call from this number claiming they were updating info for my GP surgery. After I ended the call, I phoned the surgery reception and they didn’t know the number. I also tried NHS customer services and they said it wasn’t familiar. Then I spoke to the surgery’s practice manager, she checked her records, phoned the number herself from her desk, and confirmed it was a legit call from a company called JMOG who handle updates for GP surgeries. She even showed me the call record on her system.

Sounds like a classic scam call trying to get my details for a fake NHS appointment at my local surgery. I phoned up the surgery to check if it was legit. Looking through the feedback on this number - calls from 01353 (Ely area) 780018 are back again. I got two calls today (10/07/19) around 10:00 and 13:00 - an automated female voice said "Please confirm this is you - press 1 for Yes, 2 for No". Ignored it and just hung up. Don’t know who this is, but they’ve been ringing me up to four times a day, from dawn till late evening. I can’t imagine the NHS would phone at such odd hours. Plus, if the NHS can’t reach you after a few tries, they usually leave a quick message asking Mr xxxx to ring the surgery or hospital back. This seems like just another lot of scammers trying to get your cash. I’ve just blocked the number.

I’m waiting for my GP surgery on the NHS to get in touch about rebooking my flu jab for over 65s, as I don’t have a mobile phone. I won’t be picking up though, since I got scammed before by what I think was a spoofed number, and I’m not risking it again. Honestly, no clue who they were. I hit the button to pick up, then quickly ended the call. I've added the number to my blocked list now, and while I was doing that, I got a message from BT saying it's a fake number. From what I’ve heard, the best thing to do is report these to the ICO (which I always do) and if enough people complain, they might actually do something about it.
