This number has rung me a couple of times recently. Usually, it's just silence when I answer, but this time a bloke actually spoke. He sounded Indian and was asking for a Mr Green, who obviously doesn't live here. He claimed to be from the Telephone Preference Service offering to improve my call blocking for a fee, which sounded dodgy since TPS is supposed to be free. The line was crackly, and after I told him the connection was rubbish, he just hung up. He also tried to get me to confirm my name for their records, which I politely refused. Definitely seems like a scam.

I got two calls in less than an hour, I picked up both times and they just dropped the call. Feels like some auto dialler or something. Now it’s about 10.55 in India and no more ring rings from them. Strange!

A lady called Rachel said she was from the Telephone Preference Service and claimed they'd be stopping all those annoying calls from tomorrow onwards. She actually knew my first name. I told her they were part of the problem since they’d already rung me half a dozen times today! So, I just blew a whistle right into the phone and hung up. Normally, I don’t say anything when I answer unknown calls, just let them ring out, but after getting hassled that many times in one day, I just snapped.

He called around 5.45pm and spoke with my wife. The bloke just kept going on about her 'losing all her money in the bank' and how she needed help to prevent it. Really pushy, even when she tried to tell him to buzz off, though she put it more politely. She handed the phone over to me, and I quickly told him the same before hanging up. Then it rang back a few minutes later, but no one was there. I'm seriously thinking about getting one of those air horns to blast down the line next time a nuisance caller won’t listen to a firm NO.

Called around 5pm by a guy with an Asian accent who said he was from some kind of Telephone Preference service. He claimed he could help block more calls. I told him that was alright and ended the call quickly. Seemed like a dodgy scam to me for some reason.

They rang me three times today, the last call was around 3pm. I just let it go to voicemail and the caller quickly ended the call.

The phone just rang and nobody said a word. I left it on for about 20 minutes, figured if the line stayed open, it’d drain their money a bit. After that, I finally ended the call. Bit childish, I guess, but gave me a little bit of satisfaction.

got a call from a guy who said he was from some kind of telephone preference thing, asked my partner to verify personal info. he said no way and hung up on them. nothing to gain by dealing with these supposed preference services. the tps is supposed to be free anyway. feels like a dodgy scam trying to steal your identity or something.

Got a call off an Asian bloke with a thick accent, said his name was Derek. He told me he was ringing on behalf of the telephone preference service. Thing is, we've been registered with the TPS since the early 90s. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a random call from someone trying to sell me a call blocking service. The person spoke with a really strong Asian accent and I could hardly catch what they were saying.

Got a call from someone claiming to be the TPS asking me to update my bank card info. Told them TPS doesn’t charge anything and then they just ended the call.

Just got a call from some bloke saying the TPS checks start tomorrow, but only if I give him my card details. I played dumb for ages, gave him some fake stuff like sort code xyzxyz and account 000000. Guess he didn’t catch on though, kept on chatting. Then I told him I was recording the call and even had his GPS tracked - that’s when he suddenly hung up on me!

I got a call on my landline three times within 10 minutes. After checking out some info here, I thought I’d pick up. A woman, with an Indian accent, said her name was "Lisa" and she claimed to be from TPS. I told her that sounded pretty doubtful to me, and she ended the call straight away.

I've dealt with this before and nearly fell for it, but got suspicious when they started asking for my bank info to connect me to my BT account.
