I got a call from someone saying they were with Consumer Advantage, supposedly helping with data collection. They told me to check their website and rambled on about some recent data protection laws, but when I asked about the year those laws were made, they had no idea. Felt a bit dodgy to me!

For a few weeks now, I've been getting calls from a blocked number pretty much every week, like 3 or 4 times between 8 and 8.30 in the morning. Sometimes they even ring on a Sunday! It's really annoying.

The person, who sounded asian, then shouted "you’re lying, just hang up!" I only picked up ‘cos i was tied up and hadn’t got my glasses on to check the number properly. Honestly, i’m thinking about getting a call blocker now. They really should be held responsible for harrassment, and the company behind it ought to be dragged to court. It’s awful how they push people into talking when they don’t want to.

Got a call today from the same lot who clearly don’t bother with TPS. When I used 1471 it turned out to be a fake number anyway. I usually just say “hello” when I pick up now instead of giving my name or number. This time the caller had a foreign accent, so I answered back in French, since “hello” is common there. The person on the other line was obviously thrown off and hung up straight away. It’s a handy little trick I use to end those calls fast.
