I got a call from someone claiming to be from BT, a woman named Sarah but she had a really thick East Asian accent. She told me my internet was going to be disconnected within a couple of hours and wanted to remotely access my laptop to fix it. I went along with opening the run box at first, but then they handed me over to a supposed manager. That’s when I told them flat out it’s a scam and I wasn’t going to do anything else (which I never planned on doing anyway). The line went quiet for a moment, then he just said no and hung up.
