Got a weird pause then a guy with a Chinese accent popped up saying he was from some call protection firm, that they worked with BT and the telephone preference scheme to offer me an upgrade to my blocking service. Then he started firing off questions to “confirm who I was”. Sounds like a scam, probably trying to trick me into handing over bank details or card info.

The other day, this lady with a super strong Indian accent rang me up, she said she was from Fraserburgh or something, asking if I’d been getting annoying calls and tried to sell me a service to block them. I told her pretty bluntly that she was the one bothering me, so there was no way I was gonna answer her dumb questions or sign up for whatever she was pushing!
