My work phone rang but no one picked up, all I heard was silence and then it just cut off on its own.

I rang this number back from my home phone and got a voicemail that was all stuttery, saying something like "Welcome to the energy department. Press 1 to talk to an adviser." Pretty sure it’s a scam call.

Sounds like a scam to me. I got a robotic voice on the line just saying "Goodbye" then hanging up.

Be very careful with this one - it’s a total scam. They pretend to be from EE and claim you need to get a new SIM to access 5G. That’s not true at all; genuine EE customers don’t have to swap SIM cards just for 5G. You can easily verify this by checking EE’s official website or contacting their helpline. The crooks are after your account by exploiting multi-factor authentication. They call you using your own number and try to get you to share a PIN texted to you by EE. If you share that code, they can break into your account and steal your personal info. Afterwards, they request your number to be transferred onto a different SIM, letting them access your emails or other sensitive things. Never ever give out that PIN! EE will absolutely not ask you for it.

Got a call from someone claiming to be EE, but it wasn’t them at all. They try to trick you into sharing a 4-digit code from EE which actually gives them access to your account. They might even try to swipe your phone number by doing a SIM swap using your PAC code, which lets them get around your extra security checks. Definitely a scam, so watch out!
