All you’re really doing is handing over bits of info that helps them fill out some form. Once you’ve done that, they’re off chatting about health plans like you’ve already signed up or something. Got a call today claiming to be from the NHS, sounded like it was from somewhere in India. Honestly, it’s annoying how these scams pop up. Just a heads up - if you get asked "Are you this person?" by someone you don’t know on the phone, it’s perfectly fine to just say no. You can always clear things up later. Funny thing is, the first time I got one of these calls was right after I signed up for the COVID test. Is anyone else noticing the same thing?

Just like many others, I received a call earlier today (26/10/21) from someone claiming to be with the Citizens Advice Bureau, telling me about some supposed unsecured debts. When I asked why he was calling, he mumbled something about a charity. I didn't buy it, so I told him to jog on and ended the call. I’ve already flagged these lot to the FCA because they’re pretending to be the charity Step Change. They’ve got a website that claims to be Step Change ‘debt charity’, which is totally misleading and feels like a scam. They kept trying to force me into an IVA, which they profit from but isn’t necessarily what’s best for you. Then I got this horrible email threatening to report me so I wouldn’t be able to get any debt help again. Such nasty, disgusting people just taking advantage of those in a tough spot.
