As soon as my answerphone kicked in, they ended the call straight away.

Warning! Got a call from someone saying they were from Google, but I knew it was a scam. Told them off for being fake and ended the call. Right after, they called back asking why I hung up. I told them straight up it was ‘cos they’re scammers, then he told me not to be so quick to judge and ended the call himself.

Somebody rang me claiming to be from Google, saying my identity was involved in some dodgy criminal stuff. They gave me a strange Google ID number and wanted me to switch on my computer. Since Google doesn’t usually call you like that, I reckon they were trying to get remote access and hack me.
