Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent claiming to be from Nationwide BS, luckily I don’t have an account there so I knew straight away it was a con. I asked what she wanted and she said it was a 'verification' call! When I asked what that meant, she just hung up. I’ve blocked that number now. Then today I got a call from an 'unknown' number, which I can’t block or report as scam, from a Chinese-accented woman again saying she was from Nationwide BS. Proper scam trying to trick honest folks!

Just like a few others, I got a call early morning, about 8am, someone said they were from Nationwide. They used my name but put in a completely wrong postcode. I said I wasn’t sure it was legit, and he just nodded and cut the call right there.

I just had a call from a bloke with a rather foreign accent, claiming to be from Nationwide Building Society. He got quite tetchy when I wouldn't provide my name, suggesting I could just "buzz off". Wouldn’t it be grand if we could track down and expose the person footing the bill for this number? Just a lovely thought, isn't it?

Spoke with an Indian bloke who had terrible English. Claimed to be from Nationwide and tried to drop my postcode, but got it totally wrong. Right away I knew it was a scam. Then he asked if I was under 79 years old!! lol I just laughed and told him to f off, which he found funny? He even said he liked it! Honestly, how does anyone fall for this rubbish?

Received a call purporting to be from Nationwide, attempting to verify some details. I insisted they clarify the purpose of their call before I shared anything, but they refused to do so. Definitely got the feeling this was rather dodgy.

I recently experienced something rather unsettling. I received a call from someone who purported to be from Nationwide, and he had my name as well as my previous postcode. When I pointed out that the postcode was wrong, he almost insisted on obtaining the correct one from me. I decided to challenge the legitimacy of the call by asking why he was reaching out in the first place, given the circumstances seemed rather dubious. To my astonishment, he retorted, “Mr ......, are you actually that dim?” I was quite taken aback and politely queried his choice of words. But he simply repeated himself, “Mr ......, are you actually that dim,” before abruptly hanging up the phone. At this point, I’m quite convinced that it was a scam.

I picked up a call on my partner's phone, and the bloke on the other end asked for me by name. I replied that it wasn’t me and inquired who he was, but he just cut the call. The voice had a distinctly Indian accent.

We've encountered a similar predicament ourselves. They claim to be from Nationwide Building Society and seem to know your name and some personal details. However, as soon as you confront them, they just cut off the call. Quite the nuisance, I must say!

I received a call from an Indian gentleman who inquired if my postcode was accurate. I politely told him that since he was the one who rang me, I wasn't about to share any personal details. To my surprise, he let loose a few expletives in Indian dialect before abruptly ending the call. Quite the experience!
