I answered the call and right away there was a weird beep, then this bloke starts singing. He claimed it was about a PCP contract. He already knew my name, address, date of birth, and even my car’s reg number. When I asked where he got all that info from, he just said it was linked to my car finance. Then he asked if I wanted to claim some kind of compensation. Got fed up and ended the call when he couldn’t properly explain how he had all my info in the first place.

Got a call where they asked me to confirm my name. Claimed to be from Claim Smart and wanted to chat about a car I supposedly sold two years back that involved dodgy car finance. Thing is, I didn’t have any finance on that vehicle. Claim Smart does exist, but I find it hard to believe they'd handle things this way. Also, I thought cold calling about finance stuff was against the rules.

I’ve had about 10 calls from this number today and maybe 4 or 5 the day before. Whenever I answered, they often just hung up without me saying anything. The caller ID says it’s from abroad, but the number looks like it’s from the UK. The guy on the phone had an Indian accent and sounded like he knew my name, though I never said it out loud. I told him he was annoying me by calling so much, and I didn’t let him explain what it was about. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Somebody rang and kept trying to say my surname, but it sounded totally wrong. I told them twice that I wasn't who they were looking for. I then asked if it was Microsoft calling, and suddenly she switches to asking if I owned the phone instead. I ended the call and blocked the number, but blocking these days doesn’t seem to do much!

This number kept ringing me like 9 times today, and the moment I stayed silent they just hung up. I finally answered and told the lass that most of the calls I get come from this very number! She said my protection from nuisance calls expires today, but I told her sadly I don’t have any such cover. Told her to bugger off then. Got hit up by the same scammer that everyone else mentioned. I’ve had like 5 calls from them today. On the fourth one, I played along, gave them fake details and then just hung up. Not long after, the bloke rings again, telling me something must be wrong with my debit card. I then suddenly told him I was feeling awful and might pass out. But he kept pushing to fix my details. Eventually I just told him to "get lost" and ended the call.

got a call from a bloke with an indian accent saying he was from the telephone preference management service. when i asked who he was exactly, he quickly launched into some kind of script about stopping unwanted calls. i cut him off and asked if he was actually from the telephone preference service, but he just ignored that and kept on with his spiel like it wasn’t a question. told him to buzz off and ended the call pretty sharpish.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, asking for me by my name. This number has buzzed me a couple times within the past hour. I’m gonna block it using my BT Call Protect - it’s a cracking service from BT, kinda tricky to get used to at first but well worth it. Since I started using it, the amount of annoying calls has gone down a lot.
