Got a call from 01344 111696 claiming to be APC about my washing machine insurance running out. They wanted me to sign up again for £66 a year or £196 for three years. I said I wasn't interested but then they tried to push a one-year deal for £70. Foolishly gave my card info, then they said paperwork would come through - sounded dodgy so I checked this number here and found loads calling it a scam. Luckily I rang my bank straight away and blocked the card before anything got taken. Seriously, don’t fall for this like I nearly did, just hang up if you get a call from them!

Today this number has rung me up three separate times. Since we have caller ID, I don't pick up if I don’t recognise the number. Plus, they haven't even left a voicemail message.

01344 111696 Re: APC Called me up saying my washing machine cover was about to expire and tried to sell me a 3 year deal for £196, or £66 a year. I said no, then he offered just a one year plan for £70. I gave him my card info, thinking paperwork would come through and all that. Later, I looked up the number here and realised it was a scam. Thankfully I phoned my bank straight away and blocked the card before any money left my account. Honestly, don’t share your details with them, or just hang up right away. Wish I’d known sooner so I wouldn’t have fallen for it.

Got a call asking if I wanted to add an extended warranty to my washing machine that’s only three months old - which I already paid for 3 years upfront when I bought it. The caller ID looked like it was from Tesco, but I reckon someone got my number from my Tesco Clubcard since they said Tesco but butchered the name when reading it out, same as how it's misspelled on my bills.

My grandparents have now received their fourth call about renewing insurance for our washing machine. The bloke, calling himself ‘Lewis’ from a company called ‘APS’, keeps ringing. Earlier calls came from the number 02089710672. The first call seemed legit, but it’s clear now they’re just pests. Honestly, these callers are nothing but a menace - watch out for them!
