I got a robo call saying my landline internet was under attack and if I didn’t ring back right away, they’d cut off my phone. Thought it sounded dodgy but was weirdly specific about my line.

It sounded pretty legit at first - the caller claimed my IP address was hacked and told me to turn on my computer straight away to fix it. I mentioned I'd already heard similar pitches before and that BT had warned me about these scams, but the person insisted they were from tech support and had to sort it out. While pretending to 'transfer me to their technical team' and telling me to stay online waiting for instructions, I just cut the call. Then I dialled BT myself on my mobile, and of course, they said there’s nothing wrong. So now that number, 01343870999, is firmly on my block list.
