When I finally did, I was greeted by someone with an Indian accent claiming to represent a service that halts unwanted calls. They appeared to have all my information, which spooked me a bit. As the conversation progressed, they mentioned that my credit card had expired. At that moment, I hung up - I’ve never subscribed to any paid service, just signed up for a complimentary one! What on earth is happening here? I attempted to ring them back, only to be told that the number wasn't recognised.9 yearsGot a call today from someone saying my number was put on the TPS list and they wanted to know if I was still getting spam calls. I just said “Is this about this call?” and then ended the call. Pretty sure they were going to try and charge me to stay on the TPS register or something. The official TPS never charges or calls you for money, so this has scam written all over it.
